What is a redirect url ?
Many sites that offer external links do not put links directly but position intermediate urls and add tracking parameters (this is the case for search engines, coupon sites, etc.). These intermediate urls are invisible to the user but they allow the user to be tracked ... Many sites earn money by tracking you without your knowledge.
Example: Click on the link : dealabs.com You will be redirected 5 links browsed before arriving on the requested page and you will have won 5 tracking cookies, 3 affiliation parameters and your navigation will be followed. *
1. redirects to dealabs 2. redirects to digidip (tracking) 3. redirects to awin1 (affiliation) 4. redirects to zenaps (affiliation) 5. redirects to doubleclick (advertising network) 6. finally redirects to the destination site Sosh
With Redirect Blocker, the same link, you go directly to the requested site (here: Sosh.fr) and tu auras aucun cookie.
Can I use Redirect blocker with AdBlocker ? AdBlock Plus, uBlock Origin, AdGuard, Ghostery... don't process redirections or will block you without the possibility of avoiding tracking. Redirect Blocker will transparently bypass these links to take you directly to the destination page. Redirect Blocker is recommended in addition to AdBlockers.
How do Redirect blocker bypass redirect urls ? Redirect Blocker will decrypt the url locally if the destination site is visible, or via the common data engine when the destination is hidden.
Why do I see url appear ?
When you click on an url, the browser will automatically put it in the address bar before launching the request. This is when Redirect Blocker blocks it to bypass tracking. It is therefore normal to see the url of the click but be sure that a request is not sent. Use our tracking tester to make sure.
Why are some urls not bypassed ? It is possible that the url appears in the address bar although it is not called, refer to the section "Why do I see url appear?"
However, the "redirect blocker" plugin does not spy on all of your browsing. Your privacy is very important to us. Redirect Blocker only monitors tracking sites and urls. It is therefore possible that your page is not yet identified and therefore bypass. You can contact us by email indicating the site so that we can index it directly.
Does this module collect my data ?
The Redirect Blocker add-on module does not collect, store, share or sell any personal data (IP, name, address, email...). We are not interested in this information. The purpose of our module is to protect you, so the less we know, the better. The information used for proper functioning is described here.
The Redirect Blocker extension is available on Chrome, Firefox and Edge. It is only compatible with Desktop versions. A Mobile version is currently in progress.
